Summer is starting to sink in, and a whirl of programming is ready to take kids, teens, and adults on a spin. Jewish Drum Tales is excited to share our upcoming plans with you!
First off, we are launching a new workshop: The Lion King of Africa. It’s a musical journey that takes participants to the wild, remote mysteries of Africa. While exploring the beautiful musical cultures of the African continent, kids get a real sense of the wild animals, deserts, jungles, tribes, and rural villages. Each participants receives an African djembe (hand drum) to explore the basics of rhythm and musical communication. They also get to explore our showcase of various authentic African instruments.
Through Musical IQ, we are gearing up for our Sunshine Summer Tour of 2013, a jam-packed schedule of programming at summer camps across the East Coast. We’ve developed a series of programs with a hands-on, interactive approach, replete with our supply of African drums and other exotic instruments. This summer we will be featuring Drum Tales, for camper aged 3-8, and Drum Orchestra, for campers 9 and up. We also offer The Small World Workshop, a Residency Program and our signature Camp Fire Musical Experience, which brings the whole camp together in an awesome symphony of heart-felt beats. Our Mondetta Show is an explosive performance that reverberates deeply within the audience’s imagination.
And for those who are planning for the upcoming school year, don’t forget to enhance your curricula with our holiday themed programs. We’ll be featuring our popular Channukah, Purim, and Passover programs. And we also offer exciting programs for Sukkot and Lag b’Omer. Our new Shavout drum orchestra program gives kids a deep sense of the power of unity.
