Thanks to all of the schools and institutions which participated in this years Drum Tales: Delightful Story of Chanukah Story. Beginning with our debut in Michigan, we continued running our Chanukah program throughout the Month of November through the eight days of Chanukah. This year was a special Chanukah in so many ways. The coincidence of Thanksgiving and Chanukah falling out on the same day (a once in over 70 000 years occurrence), and the fact that it was a very early holiday.

Jewish holidays do not merely commemorate events of the past. Judaism does not look at time as a static linear progression that flows from one moment to the next without any connection to the past. Rather, Judaism views time as a cyclical dimension, a medium through which we move, just as we move through space. In an effort to align our relationship with the energy of the times, this year we focused on improving our program scripts to incorporate more direct guided imagery in an effort to evoke a deeper experience of “Bayamim Haheim, Bizman Hazeh” – “In those days at this time”, a more personal, relevant and real experience of Chanukah.

We are looking forward to continue this trend as we begin preparing for our 2014 schedule.

Take a look at our forthcoming programs for 2014:
